Welcome! My name is Lindsey McAlister.
Born in the UK, I have lived & created in Hong Kong for 35 years.
As the founder of the Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation, I have been a pioneer in the arts focusing primarily on the performing arts; creative writing, devising & creating theatre and dance. I had the honour of being recognised in 2006 as an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for my commitment & contribution to UK arts overseas. Recently, I have been called back to my roots and have set up a visual arts studio in our home.
I have been drawn to explore mixed media creation which, for me, is the visual arts equivalent of creating a piece of theatre by layering elements and combining textures & images. Creativity is about the way in which we interpret the world. It is about how we think. And what we do with that information.
I’m a mixed media artist, I blend multiple genres of visual art to produce exciting combinations of images, materials, and textures. I use motivational & inspirational quotes & text in my work to empower & inspire. I also create analogue collages & photomontages, I juxtapose visuals & words to create thought-provoking collections. My current work is based on a series of small pieces, and I’ve been using tarot & playing cards as my canvas. The beauty of the arts is starting with a blank page (or stage) & filling it with ideas & creativity, by experimenting & exploring we create magical & emotive accidents.

It was a pleasure encountering your quick, responsive, and very considerate service when I recently ordered one of your fabulous Hong Kong collage prints.
For starters, I rarely shop online and am particularly careful with art. But there was something about your creative style that caught and held my eye - the whimsy and abandon in portraying the city through bold iconic elements, a riot of colour. And, all this, shrunk down to a comfortable size for an average flat.
Having placed my order I was surprised to receive a friendly note explaining procedures and delivery. You were kind enough to personally follow through, informing me of progress and shepherding the delivery through every step. It greatly put my mind at ease to find a professional at the other end of an online front (rarely the case these days). The print arrived neatly rolled up and safely packed in a small, sturdy cardboard cylinder. My feisty Hong Kong print is a keeper.

Bought a ‘Double Koi Happiness Purple’ Giclee print from Crafty Bitch. I didn't know what to get for my 15th anniversary, until I saw this lovely piece. Ordered from Lindsey, and she explained to me very well about the size, the price, about what Giclee print is and shipping everything very smoothly. When I got it, it was just perfect! It came with a poster tube, which was very well protected. Thanks Lindsey, great art piece, somehow it really reminds me of Thang-KA.

Unsure what to buy for a friend’s 25th anniversary, friends that had met in HK are still here 28+ years later, I thought I would explore what Crafty Bitch had to offer. I had seen some of the work that Lindsey had shared on social media and as long-term HK resident myself, it really appealed to me. I certainly was not disappointed. The Double Koi happiness print that I ordered what exactly as it appeared on the website. I was notified (and thanked!) immediately that my order was in process and exactly one week later, it was delivered to my door. Not only was the service prompt but when the package arrived, it was in a very secure mailing tube and the print was in perfect condition when it arrived. While the shipping was provided with a tracking number, Lindsay also personally followed up to ensure it had been safely received and that all had met expectations. Fantastic shopping experience with Crafty Bitch!
We were shopping at the Discovery Bay Market and we came across Crafty Bitch’s art work. The pieces are eye catching, fun, HK themed and just great to look at. We bought one but decided one was not enough so I messaged Crafty Bitch to see what else she had in stock. Her responses were prompt and helpful. After about 30 minutes we had managed to purchase 5 more pieces. Shopping online was straight forward and easy. Totally recommend.

I created a TAKE 5 for my wife's birthday, I selected the 5 elements as it was a suprise for her. She loves yoga, flamigos, iconic females, art & the colour pink. I love what Lindsey created, my wife did too! Very unique gift for the person who has everything!
