The double happiness symbol, "囍" (pronounced shuāngxǐ, 双喜) in Chinese is comprised of 喜喜 – two copies of the Chinese character 喜 (pronounced xǐ), which means joy and happiness. It’s commonly used as a Chinese wedding symbol to represent double the joy and happiness for the newlyweds as they begin their marriage. According to Feng Shui, a fish represents wealth and prosperity because the actual word in Chinese for fish, in Pinyin: yú, 魚, also translates to “abundance” 裕 Pinyin: yù. Twin golden carp symbolizes wealth, and abundance, but love, domestic felicity, partnership, tenacity, hence fertility, hence renewal is symbolized.
A pair of fish is also one of the Eight Buddhist Symbols.

Also a symbol of protection, the image of a tiger is often seen on clothing or in the home to ward off harm any semblance of harm and assure safekeeping. In certain areas of China and Asia, the Tiger is regarded as the God of Wealth. Consequently, Tsai Shen Yeh, the Chinese God of Wealth is depicted sitting on a tiger. Such an image symbolizes the supremacy of the intangible forces, and our ability to harness the tiger's power in our lives.

This HK Montage features the Big Buddha. The majestic outdoor bronze Buddha statue sits solemnly atop the peak of Mount Muk Yue. It is seated south and facing North towards Beijing. The statue is modeled after Siddhartha, who achieved enlightenment under the Bodhi tree. Also in the piece are two iconic forms of HK transport the tram & the red HK island taxi. The egg tart is a popular pastry sold in HK's bakeries and cafes and is beloved by locals for its flaky crust and sweet, eggy filling. First popularized in the 40s and 50s, the history of this local snack reflects Hong Kong’s unique cultural identity as an East-meets-West melting pot. The images feature the iconic Star Ferry, traditional Chinese hot water flasks, moon cakes & stunning pink dolphins. The dolphins found around Hong Kong’s waters, however, are known for one unique trait—their characteristic pink hue. Friendly, intelligent, and ever-so-cute, the pink dolphin is one of the most beloved icons of Hong Kong and was even chosen to be the mascot of the 1997 handover.

The images feature the iconic Jumbo Restaurant (which sadly is no more), a traditional Chinese sampan, dancing koi fish, a Cathay airplane & stunning pink dolphins. The dolphins found around Hong Kong’s waters, however, are known for one unique trait—their characteristic pink hue. Friendly, intelligent, and ever-so-cute, the pink dolphin is one of the most beloved icons of Hong Kong and was even chosen to be the mascot of the 1997 handover.

In 1892, Dairy Farm built a low-rise brick and stucco building on Lower Albert Road in Central for use as a cold storage warehouse. This warehouse was later renovated and expanded in 1913 to include a dairy shop, a room for meat smoking, a cold storage room for winter clothes, and a residence for the general manager. The building later evolved into the company headquarters until the company moved in the 1970s. The abandoned building was acquired by the Hong Kong Fringe Club in 1984.

The Fringe Club is a not-for-profit organisation. Its mission is to help emergent artists, promote Hong Kong artists abroad through cultural exchange and overseas touring, and conserve and develop Hong Kong cultural heritage.

Sai Kung is known as the 'back garden of Hong Kong', known for its fishing villages, beautiful scenery, hiking trails, beaches and islands, geological formations and low-key lifestyle. Most of the action is concentrated in Sai Kung Town, where fishermen sell fresh catches from their boats just off the pier, diners feast on finger-licking seafood dishes, and locals go about their day-to-day lives. The Temple ‘Goddess of the Sea’ is a focal point for the residents and visitors. To the left of the temple is this charming fruit stall.
